With CONFEX just around the corner, check out our top tips to make sure you get the most out of your visit.

1. Go armed with a clear brief of your event requirements
One of the key benefits of attending an exhibition is the ability to consolidate your events supplier search into just one day. Sourcing, comparing and meeting suppliers becomes one efficient, streamlined process – as long as you know your requirements from the offset.

2. Check out who is exhibiting before you go
Before you arrive, have a think about who you want to speak to and have a list of stands to visit. It can be a bit bewildering to walk into the exhibition centre without having a few suppliers on your agenda. This can help you make the most of your time and ensure you don’t lose your focus, although you’re bound to come across some wild cards and new ideas on the day too.

3. Take lots of your business cards and get your badge ‘zapped’
Getting on the mailing lists of suppliers you are interested in makes good sense and helps to establish a dialogue that can be useful to you in future.

4. Strike up conversations – not just with exhibitors, but also with other attendees
Chances are other attendees have shared interests to you and can be invaluable sources of ideas. Two heads are better than one!

5. Take notes so that you have a reference point after the event
You’ll be given lots of information in the space of just a few hours so ensure it is captured effectively. It will also come in very handy when you’re sharing the information with colleagues back in the office.

6. Wear comfy shoes!
There is a lot of ground to cover and you’ll thank us later. (If you have a pedometer or FitBit, this is the day to wear it; you’ll hit your steps target in no time!)
